Published 23rd July 2010

LEXINGTON, MA − July 23 2010 – Ipswitch, Inc.’s Network Management Division, developer of the WhatsUp Gold suite of innovative IT management solutions, today announced that it will be hosting a free best practices webinar on Wednesday, the 28th of July at 3pm UK time around the increasing importance of security log management and compliance. A recent webinar hosted by Ipswitch found that over half of the attendees were uncertain of what to do with their log data. The Best Practices: Security Log Management and Compliance Webinar will educate attendees on collecting, storing, analysing and monitoring log data to meet and report on regulatory compliance standards such as Sarbanes Oxley and Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS).

This hands on webinar will demonstrate how log files are generated from many different sources, in different formats and in increasingly large volumes and the best way to collect, store, analyse and monitor log data to meet and report on regulatory compliance standards.

The webinar will go through best practices for organisations to protect vital infrastructure assets, reduce cyber threats and comply with corporate and regulatory policies. Log files have become increasingly vital for businesses as they contain critical information that could reduce the exposure to intruders, malware, damage, loss and legal liabilities.
